My Favorite Things (Just like Oprah!) I'm a glass half full kind of girl!!

Here I am rocking one of my other favorite things, my Ugg boots. They may be ugly, but they are very warm & comfortable.  I'm prepared for the snow & chilly wind!!

Finishing up my blog!  LOL

HALLELUJAH!!! I went to bed at 10:00  and slept straight through until right before the alarm went off at 4:45 am.  I don't think I have done this since way before my dad died in early November.  I feel great today!  Not only that, we woke up to snow covering the roads and my school system has a two hour delay.  That's great because I have to run my hubby to the car rental place and now I won't have to worry about getting out early on the roads. (He is able to delay also.)

I generally have a positive outlook about things.  I look at the glass as half full, instead of half empty.  I'm making a list of some of my favorite things.  It's nice to find joy in the little things in life.  I have many blessings to be thankful for (friends, family, health, job, my faith, etc.), but I'm taking  some time to list the less obvious things.  You might learn some things about me, that you didn't know before.......

1 Peter 3:10   For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: I think this scripture speaks to appreciating the blessings (even the little things) in life!!!!

Here is a list of some of my favorite things.  (It's not exhaustive, but you get the picture.)

Hospital Escuela

I actually love everything about Honduras & I just had a thought; I have done so well with my jewelry, maybe I could actually fund a house build this year!  That would really be special!
Profound (maybe) Thought: Even though I tend to be a glass half full kind of girl, I can also be a perfectionist. (I mentioned this before in a past post.)  I really need to explain myself though.....  The perfectionism only applies to myself.  I don't hold others to the same standard as I do myself.  Along with the perfectionism, that I can't always live up to, I also get down on myself.  That is something that I struggle with.  I think that is the lie the Devil likes us to believe.....That we aren't good enough. Well, we aren't good enough by ourself, but we are loved enough because God sent his son to save us!   We have to do God's will and be His child.  That makes me good
enough.  I need to keep reminding myself of this daily.

John 3:16  "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Stay tuned for possible earring and jewelry pictures this week!!

Smile Friends, God loves you!!

  1. Thanks for sharing all of this! When you said "My favorite things" I thought of Julie Andrews and The Sound of Music---I never watch Oprah. :-)

The devil does lots of things to distract us from God's blessings. My friend from Community Bible Study reminded me last week that our fight isn't against flesh and blood, but against the powers and principalities of this present darkness in the heavenly realms---and that is so true! We get distracted and focused on the wrong things not realizing the bigger picture. That reminder has really helped me get over some things that have been going on in my life.

Have a great Monday! They cancelled everything here in southern Alabama---it isn't icey in our neighborhood---but I don't know about the surrounding area.

  2. Some of my favorite things: fresh mown grass; smile of delight children beam at you; sunrise, sunset; being near water;reading; crochet; hymns; the daily stuff: iced tea, facebook, family site, genealogy, Bible reading, prayers, living in America mostly a safe place to be! Hope your house funding becomes a reality-that is a goal worth pursuing.

Jan, I hear that the deep south got a bunch of snow. We didn't get that much, but the neighborhood was bad this morning. We are supposed to get more tonight! Stay warm!
