Let's Face it I'm .............................................

50 YEARS OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It doesn't matter if I feel  like it, look like it, believe it, or want to accept it...I'm 50 years old, as of a few months ago.

No other birthday has bothered me.  I was too busy at 30 or 40, to think twice about it, but if you are anywhere close to my age, you know that those decades go by in a blink of any eye  (because you are so busy being a mom, working, helping with homework, etc.) and one day you wake up, and........half your life is over.

Not only that, your children are out of the house and people start to look at you in a different light.  I have told some of my friends that it's like being invisible.

I don't feel any different, I still feel like I'm 35 years old, but people treat you differently....like you are invisible.  I had a guy who was probably in his thirties laugh because I mentioned wearing a hoodie!  Wow, what does that mean? I'm supposed to get out the support hose, orthopedic shoes and elastic double knit pants, warm cardigan and get over myself????  I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!!

What does 50 means??? Well, I have lived at least half of my life.  (Although, one of my grandmothers lived to be a 102!

What else does 50 mean???  It means that people in their teens, twenties and thirties think I'm ancient!!!!!

It means I will never date Justin Beiber!  LOL (not that I want to!)

It means that I'm too close to retirement to change my career now.

Some positive things to consider...

I finally feel confident and comfortable in my own skin.

I know what I want, and I go for it. (for the most part!)

I'm strong in my faith and it has helped me through many low points in my life!

I feel that I'm in the strongest and the best shape than I have ever been!

I finally realized that I can control only myself and I'm not responsible for other people's behavior and actions.

It means that I don't have to help anyone else do a science project!!  Yea!!

It means I am through my childrens' teenage years!!  Yea!

I was 16 in this picture. (on the right) It's amazing to think of how I have changed.  Wouldn't it be neat to be 16 for a day??? Or would it?????  That's sure something to think about!!

What are your thoughts???

With age comes wisdom!!! Today is Friday!!! Woo Hoo!!!

Jam 1:5 (NIV) If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
