I'm Guilty As Charged!!!! Great Blizzard of 1/26/2011

Monday

I've been tossing this subject around in my head for awhile.....and, as usual, songs lyrics get stuck in my head.  When I was trying to find the pop song with the words, "I'm guilty".  I actually found a better song and it's rap!!  I like some rap, but this one is really appropriate.  I know when I hear the anger or strong feelings in their voice, I usually expect some curse words.  You won't find any in this song and the "passion" is very fitting!  Take a listen!! My thoughts will follow.

Tuesday
Here is a link to a lighter song that we sing at church, "Does He Still Feel the Nails".  This is a beautiful song and it is so true!!  I hope you take time to listen to this one too.  Both songs have great messages, but told in different ways!

I also found the lyrics to this hymn when I did a Google search.  I'm not sure if our church sings this very much, but it has a great message!

How Deep the Father’s Love for Us
How deep the Father’s love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He would give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross
My guilt upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no powr’s, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my
heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Romans 6:1-2  What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

1 John 1:8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

My Thoughts on Guilt:  I have said this before.....Guilt comes easy for me.  There are two types of people....Those people who when they hear a sermon or a chastisement they say, "Whew, that's not me....I didn't do that." and other people who say, "I'm guilty, I've done that or I might do that, or I could do that, or I have thought of that or I can understand why someone might do that!"  You see my thought process!!! :0)

My brother and I were a little less than a year apart. (I was older.)  My mother would warn my brother and I about doing things that we shouldn't......I would be too scared to do them or I would try to be the "good little girl"  and not do them.  My mother said that my brother would be thinking, "That sounds like fun and would go ahead and try it!!"  I'm not sure if that pertains to the concept of guilt, but I think it does somehow.....

Back to the orginal point......We are all guilty, we all sin!!  The Bible does not classify, prioritize or rank sins!  We are all sinners!  We are all guilty as charged... Okay this may sound hopeless...you might be tempted to say,,,,,"I can't do this."  Well, guess what?  You can't, not by yourself.  That's what we have Jesus for.....Go back and listen to the rap in the beginning.  Satan tries to get us to give up, but with Jesus' help we can do it!!!  As our preacher always says, "Christians aren't sinless, Christians strive to sin less and less!"

Sorry, but this is long, but it's all you need to know!
Ephesians 6:10-18  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

From the Diary of a Second Grade teacher (A slightly near-sighted/far-sighted one who needs here glasses to take good pictures!!)

Two and a half classes in Gym (sorry for the blur)

Time for a game in Math (Second graders always like games!!)

Great blizzard of Jan. 26, 2011 (It was nice to have a day at home.  I had the whole house to myself!!  Actually, it's only 9:26 am, so I have lots of day left!!!!) A big thank you to the powers that be that cancelled school!!! <3

I think from the footprints that you can tell that we got more than the 3 " that the news reported!!!

Cocoa is enjoying her freedom!  She usually is on a leash.  It was around 8:00 am and it was still snowing!!

Pictures of the backyard and the back porch!!  Isn't this world that God created beautiful!!  The white of the snow makes of think of purity and cleanliness.  Which makes me think of all of those songs we sing at church......"Now wash me and I will be whiter than snow"

Update:  Here is my first time try at uploading my own video.  Here is Cocoa catching a snowball.  Excuse the goofy person talking!!!!

Interesting statistic that I just heard on the Today show:  19 % of 2-5 year olds can operate Smart Phone apps, but only 9% can tie their own shoes!!!!! Come on parents, do your job!!  I actually usually have a large number of second graders who can't tie there shoes!!

Friends, I hope you have enjoyed the blog today.  I didn't write this to make you feel "Guilty".  Please feel free to add your comments, I know I haven't exhausted the subject.  Where ever you are today, I hope you are safe and blessed and I hope you enjoy your "snow day"!

Here's something "HOT" to brighten your day!

Come visit me at my beach house!! LOL
