Day off ramblings

This is what you wore if you got a Bunco.  (I didn't get one, I'm just modeling for my pic.)

Snowing in TN (View out the front door)
 This is what we woke up to this morning.

Update on last night's Bunco:

Theme:  Pajama Night
Food: Appetizers, Loaded Potato Soup, Bread, Cheesecake

We had lots of  fun!  Bunco is basically a game of rolling dice and you get points for rolling the specified number.  I didn't get any Buncos, but I tied and WON most wins!  The first year that I played, I never won.  This year, I have won every time!!  I guess this is my year!!!  :0)

We meet every other month, have dinner, play Bunco, and share lots of laughs.  We always have fun and you know what they say.......GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN!!!

Comfy jammie theme

Keri did get a Bunco!!

Enjoying delicious food!  Thanks Kathy!

This is cracking me up.  We were "friending" each other on FB as we were sitting and talking.

Some of you had some questions about using the blog.

You will find an archive list of past post on the column to the left.  You can click on the different titles to access my past updates.  I have posted one each day since I started this blog on January 2.

At the end of the blog, you will see a button labeled "subscribe to".  It is on the left hand side.  You can subscribe to this if you have one of the  listed home pages.  Otherwise, you will just have to keep up with my new posts when I send it to Facebook.

I am definately not an expert, because I am learning to use this too, but if you have a question or something is wrong with the blog, feel free to leave a comment.

Do life's struggles get you down???

Psalms 5:11-12   11 But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
         Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them;
         Let those also who love Your name
         Be joyful in You.
 12 For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous;
         With favor You will surround him as with a shield.

Things may not be perfect in my life, but I know I can trust God. I have learned that people are imperfect and will dissappoint you and let you down at times, but God is always faithful and true. It gives me comfort to know that "He is my shield".

Sometime you just have to force a smile!!!! :0)

xoxo Friends!!!

Will I ever sleep?

I can't believe that I'm back up at 2 am!!!!  I started working on this post, since I was awake anyway.  Sleep has not been my friend this week.  I had three mediocre days  of 5-6 hours sleep and  the night before last, I had an awful night of waking up every hour or two.  I got home from Bunco and took my prescription for this problem. (I only use it when I get desperate.)  I started working on this blog a little and checked on FB.  My brain was exhausted, I could hardly concentrate all night.  I did get very drowsy and shut my light off and went to sleep around 10.....and here I am up 4 hours later!..................arh! I do think I'll be able to go back to sleep in a little bit.

Update:  I took two generic Benadryl and slept well till 8!!!!! Halelujah!!  I even dreamed! (I don't think I have done that in awhile.  This morning I feel pleasantly rested & I'm hoping to make it to the Zumba class that's at 10:30.  I may talk about Zumba in a future post.  I LOVE getting my "groove" on in Zumba!  It's a great way to burn calories  and relieve stress and tension!!!!! Plus, you get to dance to Rihanna, Black-Eyed Peas, and Lady Gaga without going to a club!!

  1. I was having trouble sleeping and some mild anxiety attacks when Charlie was deployed the first time and I took Benedryl a few times. I felt kind of bad about doing that until I talked to my doctor and he said that in the same family of meds that would be prescribed to me anyway--and it's non-addictive--so it's a good choice!

    I love Psalm 5! I have also been meditating on Psalm 40 as well this past fall. :-)

    Bunco is fun--and it looks like you had a great time!

  2. Patty I love your blog. It always makes me smile and feel better. I saw Zumba on tv yesterday so now I know what it is. I went looking for a pair of boots like yours but couldnt find anything like them in Murray. All your Bible readings seem to be just what I need that day! Keep up the good work.

  3. Thanks for the kind words, they encourage me! Jan, I try everything including Benadryl. I am using the prescribed med. very sparingly. The Daily Bible that I'm reading has some Old, New, Proverbs & Psalms, as well as a little bit of commentary. I am really enjoying it for a change and I some of the scriptures I read in my blog!! I hope you all have a great weekend!!
