This Week/ Money Worries???

going to workout

Monday, April 11:  I haven't been on here since my last post.  This week has gone by in a blur.  I don't think I took my self-portrait at all.  If I did I can't find it.  I'm on a count-down for Spring Break.  Monday was a torrential rainstorm.  Let me tell you a funny story about that.  My weekend is going to be busy, so I set my workout dates as Sun.- Wed., and I was bound and determined to workout.  I had several errands to run before I went to the Y.

I needed to ship my son a box and I wanted to get a book about Las Vegas from Books a Million.  As I was running my first errand, I was getting drenched.  The next stop was Books a Million.  I decide not to carry my big, huge purse, just my wallet and umbrella.  As I'm getting out of my car, I'm holding my umbrella out of my car and I have my wallet in the other hand.  The wind starts picking up and pulling my umbrella.  This is my left hand and I'm trying to keep it from hitting the roof of my car, then I drop my wallet on the ground (it's very wet) and my Books a Million card falls under my car.

I finally get out and found out that my umbrella is inside out!!  I crouch down to try to get my card and can't even see it.  I had to move my car into another parking spot.  Do you think this kept me from working out????  No, I would not be stopped!!!!!!

Tuesday, April 12:  I'm still counting the days down until Spring Break!!!  Not only do my students have Spring fever, I have some students who are off their meds.  It makes for some interesting days!  My motto is:  I can stand anything this week, because next week is Spring Break!!!

Just call me the goofy, self-portrait taker

After school Tuesday: Today's workout plan is to take the Zumba class at Austin Peay.  It is very challenging to dance with a room full of college girls and a 90 pound instructor!!  Lots of cool music that I have never heard before!!!

Wednesday, April 13:  Today was fairly the same as usual.  (I'm still battling wacky kids!)  I think I heard a rumor that it's almost a full moon.  Second graders are greatly affected by any change, even changes  in the moon!!!

This is a church close to my house.  It used to be called "Little Hope Baptist Church".  That name always made us laugh.

I have been going through the drive through too much in the mornings.  My little secret!!
More progress on Buffalo Wild Wings

Dogwood treess in Clarksville

Thursday, April 14:  Today was more of the same.  I had a hair appointment after school, so today was a free day, no workout for me.

I survived another day.  I have been reading Las Vegas for Dummies and prepping for my upcoming trip.  My hair appointment was uneventful.

I'm sitting here and I have decided to quit calling, the hubby, "The Hubby".  He doesn't particularly like it and I don't either.  So, we will identify my husband.  His name is Nick!!

Nick and I are sitting here watching the comedies on Thursday night.  My son in college and I LOVEEEEEEE  The Office.  You may have heard that this is Steve Carell's last season.  My son and I also LOVE  Steve Carell.  When I heard that Will Ferrell was replacing him, I felt like he was the only person who might be able to replace Steve.  Tonight's episode with Will and Steve was great!!!  I really think that if Will can't pull it off, it may end his career. (That's just my opinion!!)

As you know, I'm reading Charles F. Stanley's Life Principles Daily Bible.  I really like his commentary and today's was a great one.....

Stay with me here a moment....People probably worry about money more than anything else.  Money causes probably causes the most fights in marriages.

According to Charles Stanley, Satan's biggest scheme is his deception concerning wealth. Satan gets us to believe that if our finances are stable, then everything will be okay. He uses this deception to get people to turn away from God.  1 Timothy 6:10 tells us For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

Pay attention:  It isn't the money, it is the love of money!!  There is definitely a difference!!!

Besides money and wealth, Satan causes us to worry about money.  He makes us believe that if we are secure financially than everything is okay.  When we aren't secure financially we worry!!!!  What does that say when we worry????

I think we have covered this before. (I'm not sure though!)   When we pursue wealth or continually worry about our finances, we are not putting our faith in God.  Remember the rich, young ruler in the Bible????  He was a good man, but he loved his money more!  Mark 10:21   Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

We also need to be careful about keeping up with the Joneses.  That is another deception that Satan uses against us.  Luke 12:15.  Also, the world makes us believe that money runs the world, but the Bible says,

James 1:11 The hot sun rises and the grass withers; the little flower droops and falls, and its beauty fades away. In the same way, the rich will fade away with all of their achievements.

1 Peter 1:24   “All people are like grass,
   and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.”[a]

Money is temporary, the Lord, His Love and His word will last forever.

Here is the whole fact of the matter:  We must put our trust in God.  Of course, we can't sit idly by and say "I trust God".  God gives us many talents and abilities.  He may be trying to lead you in a path where you will have no fears or worries.  You must be willing to talk & listen (prayer).

Thursday night:  I'm watching Neil Young (a favorite of mine in college) singing one of my favorite songs of his, "There Comes a Time".  This was  a documentary filmed at the Ryman.

I will be "Leavin on a Jet Plane" soon!!!!

Too bad, I'm not flying SwissAir!

Do you ever worry about money???  Well, I think we all do, or have sometime in our life!!!  How did this get down here????  :) Oh, well, I think I will leave it!!!

  2. Loved all the pictures! The only Office episode I have watched all the way through is the one where the guy decides they don't take fire drills seriously enough and he lights a fire in the garbage can, I think---and one of the ladies has a cat in her desk drawer and she has to get it out---anyway--it was pretty funny and very random :-)

We are studying Luke in Community Bible Study this year and we just finished where Jesus talks about the Pharisees and their love of riches---that seems to be a theme he addresses many times. Remembering to love the eternal and not the temporal---that makes all the difference in how you prioritize things!

    Thanks for a great post!
