Home from Afghanistan/Weekend Photo Diary

(I changed the background because I was running into some problems with the text running over the sides.  I also highlighted some of the text for the same reason.)

Well, I post a picture a day and this is Thursday's.  I absolutely hated how I looked in this outfit! :(
(A TOTAL FAIL) So, I resorted to taking a mirror picture. :D

Friday is dress-down day

Friday: The day was pretty good.  I actually can tolerate almost anything on Friday.  I was supposed to have Bunco, but I got a substitute because we would be picking up my son from the airport. Yay!!!

5:30 Zumba  (My passion! I actually ordered shoes for Zumba!)

Here's a story about Zumba from the Today Show.

6:30 Dinner date with hubby at our new favorite Sushi restaurant in Clarksville

*Evidently people are finding out about our restaurant and they were very busy.  I don't know if they were short a sushi chef, but it was slow tonight. Moral of the story: You can't rush good sushi!!! To make a long story short..... We actually thought we were going to be late to the airport.

We quickly took off for Nashville and were heading down Briley Parkway when we got a call from my son.  He said his flight was delayed and they hadn't even left Atlanta. SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!!!

Since we had about an hour to kill, we decided to.......

get some coffee!!

This is actually a Saturday picture, but, did you know that Starbucks now has large tables??? I'm wondering what the marketing idea is behind that.  I'm thinking that people that don't know each other, will have to sit by each other and talk.

Hubby and I still had time to kill, so, we decided to............................

get our weekly grocery shopping done at Wal-mart!

This is what I learned at Wal-mart:

Valentine's Day is right around the corner.  Wal-mart looked like cupid had blown up all over the place.  I have to admit though......................
I'm a sucker for Valentine's Day!!  :o)

LOVE IS DEFINITELY IN THE AIR!  AT LEAST IT IS IN WAL-MART!!!

The other thing that I learned in Wal-mart was
...........................................

Sunday is the SUPER BOWL!!

So, we got our shopping done and it was on to the Nashville airport. At this point, it was about 10:15 pm.

Checking to see when his flight was coming in

He was very tired after traveling since early Monday morning. (You can tell from the pictures!)

Brings to mind the old song, "Reunited and it Feels so Good!"

He doesn't like this picture.  He was saying something.

He was tired, but telling us about his long trip.  He had a layover in Amsterdam.  He told us about taking a tram into the city.  He thought the city was cool.  We also found out why he paid so much for his airline ticket.  It was first class! (at least part of the way)

We also had a funny conversation about how many European people don't bathe daily.  He kind of fit into that category because he had been on the road so long.  No offense to the European people out there, but, I bet some of you know what I'm talking about.  I was on a flight with some one time & they made there presence known.

(I apologize for the way the text is going off the edge.  I'm not sure why it's happening.  That's why I have the blue, so you can see it better.

Home again, home again!!!!

This was really sweet.  Cocoa really loves him because he always wrestles and plays with her.  She went crazy.  She jumped up on him and then ran over and jumped up on me and knocked the camera out of my hands!!  I don't know who was happier him or her!! :0)

It was a late night.  We talked a lot and caught up and didn't get into bed until after 1:00 am.

Saturday morning:  The weather had called for possible snow and sleet.  Around 8:30, it started to snow, but the temperature stay right above freezing.  Hubby had gotten out for an errand, so I decided that it was ZUMBA at 10:30.

You may or may not be
able to tell that there was a
"light dusting" of snow in
Clarksville on Saturday morning.

Ready for Zumba!!!

Looking at this picture makes me realize that this wallpaper is OUT OF DATE! Who would like to come and help me remove it??????

After Zumba, I went to visit my favorite 20+ year old guy. My manicurist at Elegant Nails.  He is hilarious & a perfectionist.  I don't want him to be too popular because I'll never be able to get into see him.

I also had to shop for some more workout gear, so I have to admit to my new guilty obsession.............................................................

Sunday:  9:00 Sunday school & church
(Thoughts from the sermon a little later)

11:00  Our son had never tried
out the new sushi restaurant.

1:30 Another Zumba class

(I actually had another nap afterwards!)
5:00 I served my son a home-cooked meal of roast, potatoes, carrots and rolls. (If you can't tell, I don't cook much anymore.  It  was delicious, if I have to say so myself! )

6:00  Church

Afterwards, SUPER BOWL!!!

Sermon Story:  The preacher told a story of a young child learning about God.  The child was learning about how God was everywhere.  He learned about how God could do anything.  He also learned that God was in each of us.  He thought of that for a little while and he said to his mom, "If God is so big and he is inside of us, shouldn't he show through?"

Along those same lines......If we "get" the cross, the cross will "get" us!  Christ will show through in our lives!!!  (Update:  I borrowed this from the preacher also!)

I hope you have a great week!!!

xoxo
