Can you hear me?? (slight changes)

Bad weather predicted for Monday, flash flood warning!
Here, you see ponding water.
The upper grades are doing achievement testing, for some reason, it's been a tiring, wacky week, so it's been awhile since I've done a post.

 Are you listening???

There once was a teacher who had a long, busy day.  There was only about an hour left in the day and her students were supposed to be reading quietly.  The children were allowed to go to the library two at a time with a pass and permission.  Two of the most squirmy, immature boys were waiting at the door for a pass.  They were actually trying to be the first to get the pass when it came back and as they were trying to be the first one, they ended up going all of the way out in the hallway.

The teacher kindly reminded them to come  back in the room and wait at the table.  One of the boys impulsively got up and went back to the door.  The other child soon followed. The teacher reminded them again (not so kindly) to wait at the table. Two times the charm, right????? No, for the third time, one of the boys got up again and the other little boy told on him.  By this time, the teacher was very upset and told the boy that he had just lost his recess for tomorrow.

On Wed., I stopped by Starbucks before school.  The Buffalo Wild Wings is going up quickly!

Wednesday was another beautiful day.  You can see the post across the way.

Update from original post:  I've changed the scenario a little bit.  This story  illustrates one of the frustrating parts of my job that can drive me crazy.  It is so annoying when your students don't listen to you.  I taught fifth grade for two years.  I thought they would be older and listen better and guess what..........I was wrong!!!

Wednesday

Early arrivals taking the chairs down.

Okay, your saying, “Patty, I get it, your job is hard.  I could never be a teacher!”  Well, maybe, but I thought of a lesson here!!

How many times does God call our name and we either don’t listen or choose to ignore him??  Do you remember when Samuel was living with Eli and God was calling his name in the middle of the night.  I believe it took him about 4 times before he figured out God was calling his name.

Thursday

I know how I felt when I was being ignored. I wonder how God feels when we don't listen to Him.  Does He have to raise His voice to get our attention???
Luckily, God is patient and forgiving.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Our lives are so busy and we are distracted by so many things, that we often fail to take time to be quiet and just......LISTEN!  or to........PAY ATTENTION!  Is God trying to get your attention?  Or, do you hear God speaking to you, but you choose to  ignore Him.  ARE YOU LISTENING????

On a lighter note.....Tomorrow is Friday!!!!  I think this week has been a month long!!!

Sweet dreams & I hope you have a great weekend!!! xoxo

  3. I love the analogy of God calling our name and trying to get our attention, but we either choose not to hear, or we have our own agenda, or we are too distracted--something to think about for sure!

    Have a great Friday!
